Description

Light

• Best in bright indirect light.
• Tolerates medium light.
• Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves and fade stripes.

Watering

• Keep soil slightly moist, not soggy.
• Water when the top 1 inch of soil starts to dry.
• Prefer filtered, RO, or rain water.

Humidity

• Loves high humidity (60%+).
• Kerala climate is favorable.
• Extra airflow helps prevent fungal spots.

Soil

Use loose, well-draining mix:

• cocopeat / peat
• perlite
• compost
• little bark

Temperature

• Ideal: 18°C to 30°C
• Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Fertilizer

• Feed monthly with half-strength balanced fertilizer during active growth.

Pot & Placement

• Best indoors near a bright curtained window, office desk, shelf, or shaded veranda.

Common Problems

• Brown edges = low humidity / poor water quality
• Yellow leaves = overwatering
• Curling leaves = dry soil or low humidity
• Faded stripes = too little light

Repotting

• Repot every 1–2 years when rootbound.

Propagation

• Divide mature clumps during repotting.
