Deer Foot Fern Care – Alans Garden

Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the fronds.

Watering: Keep the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged. Water when the top 1–2 cm of soil feels slightly dry. Avoid letting the rhizomes stay constantly wet.

Humidity: Prefers 60–80% humidity. Keep it in a humid area such as a bathroom, kitchen, or near other plants.

Soil: Use a loose, well-draining, organic-rich mix. A combination of cocopeat, perlite, and compost works well.

Temperature: Best between 18–30°C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer once every 4–6 weeks during active growth.

Rhizome Care: The furry rhizomes grow along the soil surface. Do not bury them, as this can cause rotting.

Pruning: Remove yellow, dry, or damaged fronds with clean scissors to encourage healthy new growth.
