Guzmania (Bromeliad) Plant Care – Alans Garden

Light:
Place your Guzmania in bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.

Watering:
Keep the central cup (rosette) partially filled with clean water and refresh it weekly. Water the potting mix lightly when the top layer feels dry.

Humidity:
Guzmania thrives in moderate to high humidity. Mist occasionally or place the plant in a humid environment.

Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 30°C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Soil:
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix suitable for bromeliads or orchids.

Fertilizer:
Feed monthly during the growing season with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer.

Growth Tips:
After flowering, the mother plant gradually declines and produces pups (offsets). These can be separated and grown into new plants when they reach one-third of the parent plant’s size.
