Description

Light

• Bright indirect light is best.
• Gentle morning sun is fine.
• More light gives deeper red color, but harsh afternoon sun can scorch stems.

Watering

• Water when the potting mix becomes almost dry.
• Do not keep constantly wet.
• Reduce watering during rainy/cool seasons.

Humidity

• Prefers moderate to high humidity since it is a jungle cactus.
• Good for Kerala climate with airflow.

Soil

• Use a very fast-draining mix:
  • cocopeat or peat
  • orchid bark
  • perlite
  • little compost

Temperature

• Ideal: 18°C to 32°C
• Protect from heavy cold and waterlogged monsoon conditions.

Fertilizer

• Feed once monthly with diluted balanced fertilizer during active growth.

Pot & Placement

• Best in hanging baskets or mounted pots where stems can trail.

Pruning & Propagation

• Trim long stems to shape.
• Stem cuttings root easily after drying cut end for 1 day.

Common Problems

• Yellow mushy stems = overwatering
• Wrinkled stems = too dry
• No red color = needs brighter light
• Sunburn patches = too much harsh sun
