💛✨ Syngonium Batik Aurea Variegated Care Guide – For Alans Garden
Syngonium Batik Aurea combines batik-style vein patterns with bright yellow variegation. It grows fast, stays compact, and becomes even more striking under good light.
🌤 Light
- Give bright indirect light for strong batik pattern and yellow variegation.
- 1–2 hours of gentle morning sun improves color.
- Avoid harsh afternoon sunlight → causes burn.
- Low light = more green, less batik pattern.
💧 Watering
- Water when the top 2–3 cm feels dry.
- Keep evenly moist but not soggy.
- Always use pots with good drainage.
- Reduce watering during cold months or monsoon.
- Droopy leaves = either underwatering or overwatering—check soil.
🌡 Temperature
- Ideal: 20–32°C
- Do not expose below 15°C.
- Keep away from strong AC airflow or direct heaters.
☁️ Humidity
- Loves 55–75% humidity.
- Light morning misting is good (avoid wetting leaves too late in the day).
- Use a humidity tray or group with other plants.
🌱 Soil Mix – Best for Variegated Syngoniums
Use a light, breathable aroid mix:
- 40% coco peat
- 30% perlite
- 20% orchid bark
- 10% vermicompost / leaf mold
Or your standard aroid mix at Alan’s Garden works perfectly.
🪴 Potting
- Repot every 1–1.5 years or when roots come out of the bottom.
- Use a moss pole for larger leaves and better variegation display.
- Choose a pot only 1–2 inches bigger than the previous one.
🍃 Feeding
- Use a balanced NPK liquid fertilizer every 30–45 days.
- To enhance yellow variegation:
✔ Add micronutrients once every 2 months
✔ Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers (reduces variegation)
✂️ Pruning & Propagation
- Trim leggy growth to encourage a bushy shape.
- Very easy to propagate using:
✔ Stem cuttings
✔ Single node cuttings - Root in water or sphagnum moss for best success.
